Today I thought I’d go to my sister’s house to study because both my mom and dad were at home and my uncle and aunty have come from England and my dog’s a lunatic and I just knew it would be too noisy and I had to get more done during the day cause I won’t be studying tonight.
My sister’s house is in a little village which is cut off from everywhere. You have to drive up this road in between fields off a main road to get there, it’s that isolated. Population 500. There’s one shop, that’s it, just a little shop that sells milk and shuts at 12. The only thing you ever hear is the occasional dog barking in the distance. Both her and Joe were at work so I had the place to myself.
Perfect place to study…
Or maybe not. Sher’s house is detached and someone’s bought the land next door and decided that today would be the perfect day to take this massive yellow bulldozer thing and start digging through the bloody rocks. All the doors were vibrating. The glass in the windows was oscillating. I couldn’t hear myself read aloud.
Then I thought, oh well hopefully they’ll be done by next week and I can try again, only to come home to the news my cousin Ben is coming on Friday and he’s staying with my sister.

Just read an article on The Times about unusual baby names, foolishly, I scrolled through the comments too. Never again.
I love how they got so wound up about people opting for more original names as opposed to more traditional ones. I love how their tiny brains couldn’t comprehend why a parent would choose a unique name for their child. I love how they blatantly took the piss out of the names the article mentioned (not how they said the names weren’t to their taste, but downright took the piss). Most of all I love how someone said giving your child a unique name is just nasty because you’re making him or her vulnerable to potential bullying and abuse from other children.
Perhaps if you raised your children to know better they wouldn’t bully other children for any reason whatsoever, least of all their name. Perhaps, a start would be for the adults writing nasty comments under the article to refrain from doing so. And no, children aren’t horrible to other children for no reason whatsofuckingever, teach your kid to treat other human beings with respect and maybe, just maybe, they will. Perhaps the adults could start by leading by example.
The problem isn’t even that people here aren’t open to the thought of something different, fuck knows I’m past that, it’s their sheer arrogance and nasty attitude towards something they don’t understand.
